Tentoumushi New species Invention Society(TeNIS)

　日本だけで約7,000種、世界では30万種もいるといわれている甲虫。クワガタやカブトムシは大人から子供まで大変人気があります。その中でテントウムシはかわいらしい丸い形のせいか、女性にも受け入れられやすい甲虫であると言えます。ヨーロッパやアメリカでは、天に向かって飛んでいく様子から「天国の椅子を予約しに行ってくれる虫」であると考えられており”幸せを運ぶ虫””マリア様の虫”として大変愛されています。
　このテントウムシのみに焦点をあて世界に幸福と笑顔を運ぶ使者とする事を目的として2005年に発足されたのが「てんとうむし新種発明協会(TeNIS)」です。
　てんとうむしの新種は現在30種、天道六四麿博士が発明し、林・恵子がイラストやデザイン等製作を担当しています。

　幸せを運ぶてんとうむしと日本古来の吉祥文様を組み合わせてさらにおめでたい柄としてデザインし、てぬぐいやはがきにして毎年発表しています。

 It is said that there are about 7,000 species of beetles in Japan alone and 300,000 species in the world. Stag beetles and rhinoceros beetles are very popular among both adults and children. The ladybug beetle, on the other hand, is a beetle that can be easily accepted by women because of its cute round shape. In Europe and the U.S., ladybugs are thought to be "bugs that go to reserve a chair in heaven" because of the way they fly toward the sky, and they are loved as "bugs that bring happiness" and "bugs of Mary. The ladybug is loved very much.

 "The Association for the Invention of New Species of Ladybugs (TeNIS)"  was founded in 2005 with the aim of focusing solely on the ladybug as a messenger to bring happiness and smiles to the world.

 There are currently 30 new species of ladybugs, invented by Dr. Mushimaro Tentou, and illustrated and designed by Keiko Hayashi. 
 The combination of the happy-carrying ladybugs and traditional Japanese auspicious patterns is designed as a more festive pattern, which is released every year as tenugui hand towels and postcards.
